Take a tour lead by Aviation Ambassadors through the Air Traffic Control and Flight
Simulation Lab, Tower and Radar Simulation and the NEW Redbird full-motion simulator.
11:00 a.m. -3:00p.m. – Makerspace Open House
What is a makerspace? The Mountie Makerspace is a 4,000 square foot creative space
where people gather to share resources and knowledge, work on projects, network, and
build. Makerspaces are community centers with tools. They combine manufacturing equipment,
community, and education for the purpose of enabling members to design, prototype
and create items that wouldn’t be possible to create with the resources available
to most individuals. Expert advisors are available, but often members get help from
other users. If you would like to walk through the facility closed-toed shoes are
required, and no children under 18 are allowed.
10 a.m. - 2 p.m. - Chemistry Rocks: A Family Science Festival, Science Complex (Bldgs.
7, 60, 61)
Free event hosted by the Chemistry Department. Science activities, games and crafts
for children and adults, hands-on experiments, chemistry demonstrations, planetarium
shows, gifts, and door prizes.

Take a tour lead by members of the Fire Tech Club to check out the new Ambulance Simulator!
9-11 a.m. – Planetarium Shows I
See why so many have become “star-struck” with our state-of-the-art planetarium and
the incredible shows about our universe. Mt. SAC is one of the nation’s few community
colleges that owns and operates a planetarium.

2:30-3 p.m. – Alumnus of the Year, Captain Willie Lee Daniels II, Aeronautics Department,
Captain Willie Lee Daniels II will lead a conversation about his successful career
as a commercial pilot and how he turned his passion for the skies into an initiative
that supports 5th-12th graders. Captain Daniels founded the non-profit educational
organization Shades of Blue to help foster careers in aviation, aerospace and engineering.

Alliance of Two-Year College Athletic Administrators)—our seventh overall and fifth
in a row! And learn more about Heritage Hall, a place for the storied history of Mt.
